Cone Health Begins Selling Medicare Advantage Insurance

HealthTeam Advantage, a new Medicare Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), has received government approval to begin offering services on Jan. 1, 2016. HealthTeam Advantage is a local, physician-governed health plan offering services to Alamance, Guilford, Randolph and Rockingham county residents. HealthTeam Advantage is a joint venture between Cone Health and Care N’ Care Insurance Company, Inc. of Texas.

“Medicare beneficiaries choosing HealthTeam Advantage will have an outstanding physician network, additional benefits beyond what traditional Medicare covers, lower costs than a Medicare supplement and generous prescription drug coverage,” says Triad HealthCare Network Chief Clinical Officer Tom Wall, MD. “HealthTeam Advantage physicians have extensive experience and commitment to providing quality health care. All of the doctors who are part of HealthTeam Advantage, including me, have strong ties to the community and are dedicated to ensuring seniors get the care they need and the service they deserve.”

All state and federal licenses and regulatory approvals have been received by HealthTeam Advantage, allowing the PPO to market its services to the Medicare population in the counties it will serve. New member enrollment begins Oct. 15.
