Cathy Cochran, MSN, RN, NEA-BC
Chief Nursing Informatics Officer
Cathy Cochran, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, serves as the chief nursing informatics officer for Cone Health. In that role she connects nursing with operations in using information technology to improve the care of patients. Her work includes making it more efficient to record and retrieve information and then presenting that information in ways to help staff improve care.
Cochran joined Cone Health in 1999 and was the director of pediatrics and the pediatric intensive care unit. She moved into the information technology world in the fall of 2010 as the director of clinical applications becoming an executive director in 2013.
Cochran earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Duke University and a Master of Science in nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Cochran is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.
She is a board member of the Mustard Seed Community Health Clinic in Greensboro and a volunteer at Peacehaven Community Farm in Whitsett.
