Chris Cornue, Chief Strategy Officer
Christopher "Chris" Cornue serves as the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer at Cone Health. He has dedicated his life to advancing health for all. Throughout his career, he has leveraged his deep understanding of leadership, operations, strategy, culture, innovation, physician relationships, and clinical performance both domestically and globally. At Cone Health, he leads strategy, innovation, government & external affairs, and the patient experience, while working with the CEO and Board to plan Cone Health’s long-term strategic vision and impact across the region and nation.
Cornue's previous executive roles include Atrium Navicent Health Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer and CEO of Banner Health’s McKee Medical Center in Colorado. He has also held executive positions at Sinai Health System, University of Chicago Medicine and Sg2. Immediately prior to joining Cone Health, he was executive vice president of the Center for Innovation at The Health Management Academy in Washington, D.C., where he remains an executive in residence.
Cornue is founder and president of sláinte global partners and has collaborated with international partners to further global health care strategies and solutions. He also serves as an expert and mentor with the International Society for Quality in Healthcare.
Cornue received his Master of Science in Health Administration from Gannon University, where he also received his Bachelor of Science in Biology & Chemistry. Cornue was named a fellow in the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in 2017 and became a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2007.
Cornue was named to Becker's Healthcare's Great Health System Chief Strategy Officers list in 2022 and 2024.
Supporting his passion for service, Cornue has been a member of The Rotary Club since 2008 and has volunteered in several community-based service organizations. Additionally, he is a board member with AuthoraCare and the Greensboro Parks Foundation, where he is chair.
