Deborah Grant
Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President, Ambulatory and Clinical Nursing Services
Deborah Grant, DNP, RN, MSN, serves as chief nursing officer and vice president, ambulatory and clinical nursing services.
Grant assumed this role in 2017. She has responsibility for nursing, spiritual care services, healthy communities, transitional care, clinical education and support services across the system.
Grant joined Cone Health in 1981 as a staff nurse at Moses Cone Hospital. Since then, she has served in progressively responsible nursing leadership roles. She was vice president of nursing before assuming her current role.
Grant completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree in 2017. She received her Bachelor of Science nursing degree and Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with post-graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
Grant is a certified nurse executive through the American Organization of Nurse Executives Credentialing Center. She is a 2001 Great 100 Nurse in North Carolina and the recipient of the 2006 Women in Business Award.
Grant is a former president of the North Carolina Organization for Nurse Leaders. She serves on the North Carolina Nurses Association Board and is a member of the American Nurses Association and American Organization of Nurse Executives. Grant serves on the North Carolina A & T Nurse Advisory Board. She is a member of the backpack for kids program.
