Jason Nelms

Vice President of Revenue Cycle, Cone Health

Jason Nelms is vice president of revenue cycle at Cone Health. Nelms provides leadership and expertise for the team that tackles billing and payments—and the array of issues connected with them. Those issues include price transparency, improving the patient experience, processing payments and working through claims denials.

Nelms previously worked at Atrium Health in Charlotte as the assistant vice president, patient financial services. He also has experience on the payer side as director of payer contracting with Cigna Healthcare.

Nelms is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. He holds a Master of Health Administration degree from Pfeiffer University.

Nelms becomes president of the North Carolina chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association in June. He has been active in various statewide initiatives with the organization for 18 years.
