William Curran, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Value-Based Care Institute
Dr. William Curran, Chief Medical Officer of the Cone Health Value-Based Care Institute, will help Cone Health further improve and implement its value-based care capabilities. This will support Cone Health’s transition to payment models that reward providers for improving the health of the populations and communities it serves.
Curran came to Cone Health in 2024 from UpStream where he was regional market president. Prior to UpStream, Curran served as Senior Vice President and Medical Director of Value-Based Care Operations at Prisma Health, a $5 billion health system in South Carolina. Curran served Prisma Health for 24 years as a practicing pulmonary and critical care physician. He also served in numerous leadership roles including medical director of critical care services, vice chair of operations for the department of medicine, chief medical officer of post-acute care, and senior vice president of value-based care.
Curran earned his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and his undergraduate degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
