Biography

Gayatri Acharya, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.

She is the recipient of the American Heart Association Women in Cardiology Excellence in Training Award and numerous research and academic performance awards. She has published and presented nationally on a variety of cardiovascular-related research.

In her spare time, she is an accomplished photographer and tennis player. Previously, she was a nationally ranked junior tennis player and president of Duke University Women’s Club Tennis team.

The doctor is a warm, professional person who spent a long time with me, getting my history and looking into my records. I'm extremely impressed with her. I had to wait 2-3 months to get my first appointment, but the wait was worth it. I feel like I'm in good hands.
