Lap Pool

This pool is multi-purpose, used for lap swimming, lessons, exercise classes, and recreational swimming. At least one lane will always be open for lap swimming.

Therapy Pool

This warm water pool is designed specifically for our physical therapy program. Sagewell members may use this pool during posted hours.

Whirlpool

The whirlpool is available to members during pool hours. Children 8 and under are not allowed. Ages 9-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Proper dress required.

Swim Lessons

Learning to swim is a crucial life skill that enhances safety, fitness, and confidence. Sagewell Health & Fitness offers both private and group lessons to cater to individual needs and preferences.

  • Group Swim Lessons: Offered multiple times each year, following the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program for skill and stroke development. Open to both members and non-members. Register Here
  • Private Lessons: Get personalized coaching from a swim instructor all to yourself. Open to members aged 3 and up. Inquire Here
  • Semi-private Lessons: Share a lesson with one sibling or friend with a similar skill level. Open to members aged 3 and up. Inquire Here

Group Lesson Registration

Offered as six 30-minute sessions and available to both Sagewell members ($100) and non-members ($150).

Parent-Child (18-36 mo)

  • Parents participate in each lesson to boost their child's comfort.

  • Introduction to various water safety topics.

Skills Taught

  • Feeling comfortable in the water, splashing, reaching for toys, blowing bubbles.
  • Progressive skills inclulding submerging mouth, nose and face, splashy kicks, front float and back float.
  • Skills to practice between sessions.

Polywogs (Ages 3-5)

  • Beginner swimmers that have no previous experience.
  • Introduction to water skills and safety

Skills Taught

  • Learn to safely enter and exit pool.
  • Students develop comfort with underwater exploration.
  • Blowing bubbles, bobbing, and will be introduced to supported front/back float, supported kicking

Tadpoles (Ages 3-5)

  • FUNdamentals-working toward unassisted skills
  • Participants should know how to submerge face and flutter kick.

Skills Taught

  • Entering and exiting unassisted
  • Introduction to independent skill development
  • Semi-assisted front/back floating, kicking, front crawl, back crawl), jumping into water over their head without assistance.

Guppies (Ages 6-12)

  • Beginner swimmers that have no previous experience.
  • Introduction to water skills and safety

Skills Taught

  • Learn to safely enter and exit pool.
  • Students develop comfort with underwater exploration.

  • Water safety discussions

  • FUNdamentals-working toward unassisted skills
  • Should know how to submerge face, flutter kick and float

  • Partially assisted front/back floating, kicking, front crawl, back crawl), jumping into water over their head without assistance.

Dolphins (Ages 6-12)

  • Skill & stroke development
  • Improve fully independent skills, stroke development and technique.

Skills Taught

  • Improving stroke development for front and back crawl
  • Jumping into water over their heads
    unassisted
  • Gliding, rotary breathing, treading water for 30 seconds, safety skills, fully independent floating and proficiency with front/back crawl.

Adult Level 1 (Ages 13+)

  • Designed for beginner swimmers with no prior experience.
  • Introduction to water skills and safety.

Skills Taught

  • Developing comfort with underwater exploration.
  • Fully submerging the face.
  • Blowing bubbles, bobbing, supported front/back float, and supported kicking.
  • Water safety discussions.

Adult Level 2 (Ages 13+)

  • FUNdamentals: Working towards unassisted skills.
  • Should know how to submerge face, flutter kick, and float.

Skills Taught

  • Front crawl and basic back crawl with proper technique.
  • Improving endurance.
  • Independent skill development: front/back floating, kicking, and treading water for at least 1 minute.

Lap Pool

The lap pool is multi-purpose, which is used for lap swimming, lessons, water exercise classes, and recreational swimming. Pool scheduling is subject to change and often includes multiple activities at any one time. At least one lane will be open to lap swimming at all times.

Warm Water / Therapy Pool

This pool is designed specifically for our physical therapy program. Sagewell members may use this pool during posted hours.

Whirlpool

The Whirlpool is available to members during pool hours. No one 8 and under is allowed in the whirlpool. Anyone ages 9-15 is to be accompanied by an adult. Proper dress required.

Sagewell offers group swim lessons multiple times each year, following the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program for skill and stroke development. Lessons are available to both Sagewell members and non-members.

Group classes include:

  • Adult/child classes: Ages 18 months to 3 years.
  • Skill and stroke development progression: Ages 3 to adults.

    Private Lessons

    At Sagewell Health & Fitness, we provide private and semi-private swim lessons tailored to individuals of all ages and skill levels:

    • Private Lessons: Get personalized coaching from a swim instructor all to yourself. These lessons are available for Sagewell Health & Fitness members aged 3 and up.

    • Semi-private Lessons: Bring a sibling or a friend with a similar skill level. You'll share the lesson with just one other person. These lessons are also open to Sagewell Health & Fitness members aged 3 and up.

    You can schedule either private or semi-private lessons based on your swimming level. Whether you're just starting out or want to improve your strokes, our swim lessons are designed to meet your needs and help you become a better swimmer!
