Receiving the Primary Stroke Center Certification means the hospital is able to provide expanded care to patients in Alamance County. Offering quality care for stroke patients means patients will have improved outcomes and an increased chance of recovery.
The Joint Commission website says the following about this certification: “It is the best signal to your community that the quality care you provide is effectively managed to meet the unique and specialized needs of stroke patients.”
The Primary Stroke Center Certification program is offered in collaboration with the American Stroke Association and is based on the Brain Attack Coalition’s “Recommendations for the Establishment of Primary Stroke Centers.”
