Cone Health Adds Medical Directors
The three physicians are tasked with further improving quality.
Greensboro—Cone Health has appointed chief medical officers at Annie Penn Hospital, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital. The physicians will work on quality, safety, and physician and employee engagement.
These physicians will divide their time between caring for patients and administrative duties.
- Alvin Powell, MD, will be the chief medical officer at Annie Penn Hospital. Powell will also take the role of chief health equity officer for Cone Health. He will work on initiatives to eliminate health care disparities.
- Jeffrey Hatcher, MD, will be the chief medical officer of Wesley Long Hospital. Hatcher will also co-lead Cone Health’s work with the Vanderbilt Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy to help improve patient care and the interactions between physicians and staff.
- James (Jay) Wyatt, MD, will be the chief medical officer of Moses Cone Hospital.
