Cone Health Awarded for Patient Safety
This is the second patient safety recognition for Cone Health in recent weeks.
Greensboro—Cone Health is the top 10% of all hospitals in the nation when it comes to patient safety in 10 important clinical areas. The recognitions are part of the 2022 CareChex® Awards an information service of Quantros Inc.. This comes on the heels of the fall safety report from The Leap Frog Group.
Patient safety is a major issue in the nation’s hospitals. Thousands of people experience falls, medical errors, infections and other patient safety issues in hospitals every year. Avoiding them helps people heal faster, return home quicker and reduces costs.
“It is gratifying to again be recognized for our efforts to provide the safest medical care possible,” says Kenneth Rempher, Ph.D., RN, chief nurse executive, Cone Health. “To be recognized among the best nationally in so many areas, really speaks to our culture and commitment to safety and quality.”
CareChex ranks hospitals according to their government Medicare and Medicaid numbers. Annie Penn Hospital, Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital share the same number. Their combined performance is listed as The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
