Fortney Named Compliance Officer at Cone Health

Her role is to lead the compliance, privacy and audit programs ensuring Cone Health always does the right thing for patients and community.

Greensboro – Catharine E. Fortney has been named vice president and chief compliance and privacy officer for Cone Health and Triad HealthCare Network.

 As such, she is responsible for leading the privacy and audit programs to support and enhance a culture of compliance and integrity throughout the organization. Fortney and her team will work as an internal resource guiding and supporting the organization in doing what is right for patients and the community.  

Fortney has extensive experience in a variety of health care areas. She comes to Cone Health from Denver Health, in Denver, Colorado, where she served as chief compliance and audit officer.

Fortney earned her Master of Science in Health Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver; and her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. She is certified in Healthcare Compliance and a member of the Health Care Compliance Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association.
