Telemedicine Makes the Grade in Guilford County Schools
The program keeping kids in school is set to expand next year.
Telemedicine is set to expand into 5 additional Guilford County schools in August. Eight more Title I elementary schools will be in the program by the end of the 23-24 school year.
The program provides remote health care to students in school to avoid parents having to pick them up and students having to miss the rest of the day's classes. More than 90% of students seeking care for upset stomachs, earaches and other minor ailments are able to be seen by a remote provider and returned to class. This video describes how the program works.
