Cone Health Named a 2024 Best Employer for Diversity 

The health system ranks 78 nationally and is the highest ranked organization headquartered in North Carolina.

 

Greensboro – Cone Health has been recognized for its workplace diversity efforts by Forbes. The 2024 Best Employer for Diversity designation was based on survey feedback that included direct recommendations from team members, indirect recommendations from employees across health care and diversity-related best practices.  Forbes Best Places for Diversity logo

According to the Commonwealth Fund, research shows consumers do better with diverse health care workforces. For example, Black patients treated by Black doctors, tend to be more satisfied with their health care, more likely to have preventative care and more likely to follow their provider’s advice. 

“Creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace requires behaviors and actions that challenge bias, examine processes and systems, extend compassion, and educate each of us on the value of our differences.,” says Cone Health Chief People & Culture Officer Michelle Adamolekun. “By examining our policies, practices and processes, we ensure each team member feels respected, accepted and valued.”  

The Best Employers for Diversity 2024 were selected based on a survey of approximately 45,000 U.S. employees working for companies with a minimum of 1,000 employees. Cone Health ranked 78th out of the 500 organizations nationwide receiving the recognition. It is the highest ranked organization headquartered in North Carolina.
