Cone Health’s Chief People & Culture Officer Named a Champion of Diversity
The honor is the latest of many national recognitions for her work.
Greensboro – DiversityGlobal Magazine has named Cone Health Chief People & Culture Officer Michelle Adamolekun as one of its Top 15 Champions of Diversity for 2024.
This award is given to professionals who have demonstrated exceptional effort and success in their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging efforts. Adamolekun has been an advocate for Cone Health’s underrepresented team members through a variety of strategies. This includes efforts such as raising the organization’s minimum wage.
One of Adamolekun’s recent projects involves research with the University of Illinois Chicago Public Health Center for Healthy Work. The grant-funded research explores the impact of unmet social needs and health inequities on workers and how employers might address them. Under her leadership, Cone Health also signed a memorandum of understanding with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University to strengthen partnerships in educating and training health care workers, research and workforce development.
Since joining Cone Health in 2021, Adamolekun has achieved many national recognitions. In 2023, she was named one of the Top 50 Healthcare Professionals by Diversity First Consortium for her outstanding servant leadership and commitment to diversity. Under her leadership, Cone Health has been listed in the top 100 on the Forbes’ list of 2024 Best Employers for Diversity, on the Forbes’ list of 2024 Best Employers for Women and in 2023, named one of Modern Healthcare's Top Diversity Leaders.
In 2018, Adamolekun co-founded the Reggae Girlz Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It was set up to inspire, educate, develop and support the next generation of young female soccer players in underserved communities.
