Employee Childcare Centers

Children's Corner

If you are a working parent of a small child, then you already know the dilemma. There's nothing more important to you than the smaller world where your child spends his or her day. Yet the search for ideal care can be tough for healthcare professionals, who often have flexible work schedules or unusual hours that don't fit the mold at traditional centers

Cone Health provides outstanding childcare services to you and your family. Our on-site childcare centers - The Children's Corner and Kids Connection in Greensboro and the Family Enrichment Center in Burlington - blend the best elements of childcare in a setting that allows you to successfully combine work with family.

We also offer an off-site childcare center in Reidsville at Woodmont United Methodist Church as a service to Annie Penn Hospital employees and members of the community.

The centers

Kids-Corner

Our centers provide childcare exclusively for network employees. We strive to provide high-quality centers that provide hospital personnel the flexibility that they need to meet job demands.

The Children's Corner, located on The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital campus, was constructed in 1989 and expanded in 1992. The center can accommodate more than 200 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. The center's hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Kids Connection, located on the Wesley Long Hospital campus, operates from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The center was built in 1990 and can accommodate approximately 85 children, 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

Family Enrichment Center, on the campus of Alamance Regional Medical Center, has been in operation since the mid-1980s and accommodates 124 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p m., Monday through Friday. Family Enrichment Center has earned a five-star rating from the North Carolina Division of Child Development. In addition, the center is nationally accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children.

The Woodmont Child Development Center  in Reidsville opened in 1990 and accommodates 69 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years. In addition to the infant, toddler and preschool programs, the center offers before- and after-school care for school-age children as well as a summer camp. The quality of care

Woodmont

You will find the quality of care to be among the highest. All our childcare centers have earned four & five-star ratings from the North Carolina Division of Child Development.

Our employees are caring, nurturing, experienced caregivers with a special love and understanding for young children. They work to create a happy, healthy, creative environment where each child can develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually.

How the children spend their day

Kids Corner

Children have many daily opportunities to interact with adult caregivers and other children. Infants set their own schedules, with naps and feedings on demand. Toddlers and preschoolers follow regular daily schedules, including planned, age-appropriate activities. Older preschoolers participate in a variety of center activities, including dramatic play, block building, and science, math and music activities.

Children also have opportunities for art, water and sand experiences. The outdoor play areas provide space for gross motor skill development.

Our staff

Our staff is a group of professionals with a wide variety of degrees and years of experience in Early Childhood Education. We are required by the North Carolina Division of Child Development to receive Continuing Education for constant staff development.

Our staff is CPR, First Aid and SIDS certified. We have many years of longevity among staff in our programs.  In fact we have over 75 combined years of experience among our Leadership Team. We are committed to providing quality programs for the families we serve.

Security

Each center is equipped with a limited-access security system that allows only parents and caregivers to enter the building unannounced.  The Cone Health security staff is also available if needed.

Snacks and meals

Kids Corner

Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared and delivered to the centers by the hospital's nutritional services departments.

Parental involvement

Parents are actively involved in the centers through Parent Advisory Committees. Parent meetings include educational sessions as well as business meetings. The committees plan special activities for the children and staff members.

Fees

The cost of care is subsidized by Cone Health. Childcare fees are paid through payroll deduction. Pre-tax and after-tax payment options are available.

In addition, scholarships are available to income-eligible employees with approval through human resources. Our programs also accept vouchers from the Department of Social Services.
