Message from the Chief Pharmacy Officer

Andre Harvin

Dear Esteemed Pharmacy Colleagues,

As the chief pharmacy officer of Cone Health, I am delighted to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to each of you. For over 50 years, Cone Health Pharmacy has helped nurture the purpose and passion of pharmacists early in their careers, and we look forward to providing similar guidance to you.

At Cone Health, our commitment to exceptional care extends across a diverse and dynamic healthcare landscape. We encompass five esteemed community hospitals, each at the heart of its respective community, and six advanced cancer centers that provide cutting-edge treatment and unwavering support to patients and their families. Complementing these pillars of care, we operate six community pharmacies, a specialty pharmacy, and a central fill, where innovation, compassion, and expertise converge to meet the medication needs of our diverse patient population.

One of the hallmarks of Cone Health is our strong emphasis on collaboration and integration within the healthcare ecosystem. We are proud to house an accountable care organization, Triad HealthCare Network. This partnership unites providers across the region to enhance care coordination, improve patient outcomes, and optimize the overall health of our communities. The collaborative approach ensures that our pharmacy residents can engage with a vast network of healthcare professionals, broadening their perspectives, expanding their horizons, and directly impacting patient outcomes as a vital resource in our transition to a value-focused organization.

Our insurance product, HealthTeam Advantage, is a testament to our dedication to holistic well-being. By bridging the gap between healthcare delivery and insurance services, HealthTeam Advantage encapsulates our philosophy of putting patients first and ensuring their healthcare needs are met with compassion and excellence.

As pharmacy residents, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission to provide exceptional care, foster innovation, and create a lasting impact on patient lives. Prospective residents will have the unique opportunity to rotate through our specialized areas, ranging from clinical pharmacy to health plan design and beyond. With state-of-the-art facilities and technology, you will engage in transformative learning experiences shaping your future practice. Our PGY1 residency offers full-spectrum training to ensure our graduates pursue their best path to delivering exceptional pharmacy care to patients. We also provide PGY2 residencies in pediatrics, cardiology, ambulatory care, oncology, infectious diseases, and health-system pharmacy administration and leadership.

Throughout this journey, our team is committed to providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help you thrive. Your contributions will undoubtedly elevate the standards of pharmacy practice and drive meaningful change in healthcare.

Once again, we hope you will join the Cone Health family. Your presence will enrich our community, and we eagerly anticipate the remarkable impact you will make.

Warm regards,

Andre D. Harvin, PharmD, MS, MBA
Chief Pharmacy Officer
