Cesar Aviles, DNP, ANP-BC, serves as Cone Health’s first executive director, System-wide Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Services. Dr. Aviles is an accomplished, innovative clinical leader who has an extensive background in multiple subspecialties including trauma, surgical critical care, organ transplantation, cardiothoracic and hepatobiliary surgery. Over the last two decades, he has served as an APP and RN, first at Duke University Medical Center and then at Atrium Health. Most recently, he served as the chief APP for the division of surgical oncology and as the director for the surgical specialties APP fellowship at Atrium Health.
SaraBeth Early, DNP, AGNP-c, serves as the APP Fellowship Director. Dr. Early is an enthusiastic and dedicated clinician who brings a new and valuable perspective as we seek to grow and innovate our program.
Katina Blackwell-Mitchell, MHA, ACHE, serves as the manager of the fellowship program. Katina has many years of experience in other academic programs at Cone Health and is excited to help cultivate this new program.
