Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We are a diverse group of residents and faculty serving a beautiful, diverse community of patients. Our Family Medicine Center patients come from many different ethnicities, languages, ages, gender identities, financial situations, and backgrounds.

We are committed to training our residents to care for ALL people with respect, compassion, and cultural competency.

Our residents learn about culturally competent care through didactic discussions on topics like race in medicine, working with interpreters, gender affirming care, and caring for refugee patients.

Many of our pregnant patients are part of the Guilford County Adopt-A-Mom program, which provides low cost prenatal care to patients who are uninsured and Medicaid-ineligible. Many of our Adopt-A-Mom patients are Spanish-speaking.
