Community-Based Longitudinal Care
Site Course Directors:
Zachary Pettigrew, MD; Brittany McIntyre, MD; Joshua Zavitz, DO
Structure- 16 weeks total:
- 16 weeks of continuous ambulatory care with interspersed activities throughout each week.
- 2 days outpatient adult, 1 day outpatient pediatrics, self-directed learning (SDL), didactics, QI project and study time
- Hospice experience
- Weekly didactics (Wednesdays) with possible quizzes or written assignments
- SHS4 day backs at Chapel Hill
- Self-directed learning (SDL) with choice of multiple discipline options
- 1 shelf exam and multiple OSCEs, quizzes, and assignments

Structure- 16 weeks total:
- 5 weeks psychiatry, 5 weeks inpatient pediatrics, 5 weeks OB/GYN, 1 week of OSCE at UNC
- Weekly didactics with possible quizzes or written assignments
- 3 shelf exams and multiple OSCEs (UNC)
Hospital, Interventional & Surgical Care
Site Course Directors:

Structure- 16 weeks total:
- 8 weeks of inpatient Internal Medicine
- 8 weeks focused on surgical services
- 4 weeks general surgery in rural setting
- Two 2-week blocks of: ortho, vascular, pediatrics, neuro
- 2 shelf exams
- Case-based learning
- Didactics with quizzes and assignments
