History of Heart & Vascular Innovation at Cone Health
One of the most important and significant contributions to the nation and world that has come from Greensboro is today’s global standard of care for the treatment of heart attacks. The combined use of balloon angioplasty, stents and fast emergency response procedures that Greensboro cardiologists helped to prove to be more effective than current treatments and successfully advocated for as today’s global standard of care has saved millions of lives since the 1980s.
