Heart & Vascular Disease Prevention
Heart disease and stroke are among the leading causes of death and disability in North Carolina. Protect your health and well-being by partnering with Cone Health to reduce your risk of heart and vascular diseases.
Heart & Vascular Prevention Program
At Cone Health Heart & Vascular Prevention Program, we work to stop heart disease before it starts. We help people at risk for heart and vascular problems and help them get healthier. We focus on healthy food, exercise and medicine when needed.
You are the most important part of our team, which includes heart doctors, pharmacists, health coaches, nutrition experts, nurses, social workers, exercise and cooking experts. Ask your primary care provider for a referral to our program, based within Cone Health Heart & Vascular at Drawbridge Parkway.

Advanced Care Clinics
Heart Scan Calcium Test
This non-invasive CT scan is a way to check for calcium – or plaque – buildup in your coronary arteries. Calcified plaque may lead to a cardiac event, such as a heart attack, or indicate early coronary artery disease. This test will give us a glimpse into your arteries to check your calcium deposit level. It uses minimal radiation and doesn’t require an IV line. It is a comfortable and quick scan that offers peace of mind and awareness about treatment plans/lifestyle changes, if needed. From start to finish, the scan should only take about 15 minutes. Wellness Checklist
Following these steps can help you achieve a long and healthy life. Adopting these strategies can improve your health, whether you’re taking early steps to prevent heart disease or managing an existing condition.
