Integrated Behavioral Health
Experience in-the-moment support with our Integrated Behavioral Health team.
We believe that physical and emotional health are equally important and strongly connected. Through our Integrated Behavioral Health offering at Cone Health, we are able to provide patients and their families additional support and resources during a medical visit, helping to link physical care with behavioral health care. Our Integrated Behavioral Health team is available on-site at many Cone Health offices to provide in-the-moment support and health and wellness services.
What does Integrated Behavioral Health mean?
At Cone Health, we have a specific team available at several clinics who are trained in fields such as social work, psychology and counseling. This team works hand in hand with medical providers to help children, adolescents, adults and families navigate diagnoses or issues right in our offices.
If called in during an appointment, a member of the Behavioral Health team will work with a patient and/or family member for 20-30 minutes to help in accomplishing a short-term health goal. The Behavioral Health team member can assess the situation and help connect the patient with additional support if needed (such as longer-term counseling or community resources).
It is our goal to empower patients in achieving their healthcare goals and to connect them with resources available to support them.

Fully integrated care is available at the following clinics:
*Cone Health LeBauer Clinics have therapists in their primary care clinics that practice an integrated care co-located Behavioral Health model. We also provide a Virtual Behavioral Health model for two clinics (with the goal to expand this offering).
What happens after meeting with a member of the Behavioral Health team?
The answer here is: it depends. For some patients and their families, an in-office consultation is all they need. For others, a referral to another resource is the next step. Cone Health has a broad range of support systems – including counseling, support groups, cessation resources, some patients can also benefit from psychiatrists reviewing their medications in collaboration with their primary care provider and more – that our integrated Behavioral Health team, along with your medical provider, can connect you with.
